From the collection of this year’s honorees, Milestone Films, is the one-of-a-kind feature from the silent era from the filmmakers who would later bring the world King Kong. Shot entirely in Siam, the film tells the story of a farmer and his family who have settled a small patch of land on the edge of the jungle. The filmmakers sought to capture the real life of the indigenous people by filming their struggle with the wild animals that surround them. The climactic elephant stampede is still one of the most exciting scenes in cinema history.

Screened with a live-score by accompanist Brett Miller. Preceded by the presentation of the Ambler Cinematic Arts Award to Dennis Doros and Amy Heller, Founders of Milestone Films.
