Celebrating the New Year with an evening of festive classical music is
one of Trenton’s most popular and beloved traditions. From John William’s rousing music from the motion picture “The Cowboys” to George Gershwin’s exuberant Overture to Funny Face, the evening is packed with musical gems. This year, we are delighted to present coloratura soprano Grace Gilday as our special guest artist. Commanding a voice of “unusual color and sweetness”, Grace Gilday has starred in major operatic roles with Tri Cities Opera, Opera Camerata of Washington, Opera NOVA, and Le Festival Lyrique de Belle-Ile-en-Mer in France, among many others. The Washington Post stated: “Grace Gilday as Susana was pert and natural in the role . . . [and] . . . was delivered stylishly.” The San Francisco Examiner commented on Grace as “The surprise of the evening” and “her smoothly polished command of Donizetti’s coloratura challenges.” Experience the excitement that Maestro Spalding, the Capital Philharmonic, and rising star Grace Gilday will be bringing to the New Year — a night to remember!
